On behalf of the Kootenay Co-Op Radio I'm honored and excited to be coordinating the fifth Kootenay Music Awards. And they’re set to return bigger (and louder) than ever! A premier celebration of local, original music which captures the diversity, creativity and craft of musical talents found in and around the Kootenay Mountain Region. From Fernie, Rossland to Revelstoke and all the fruitful communities in between, the return of the awards are set to be for music lovers and industry alike.
The award categories are:
- Artist of the Year
- Album of the Year 2016
- Best Breakthrough Artist
- Best Music Video
- Best Folk/Roots/Country Act
- Best Rock/Punk/Metal Act
- Best Electronic Producer
- Song Of The Year 2016
Submission are open for all original works from the Kootenay Mountain Region recorded from May 24 2015 to Sunday 12 February 2017. Submission are to be via email to kootenaymusicawards@gmail.com with a soundcloud link accompanied by the artist’s or bands name, address, phone number and the category choice/choices they would like to submit for.
