Drea Phoenix is a wonder women! Mother to three, (my adopted Mumma here in Nelly)lovingly wife & full time small business owner. She founded Radiant Wild Yoga Retreats in September 2016. With over 15 years of teaching experience she’s created a practice that uniquely focuses on yoga retreats in sacred healing locations all over the world. Combining her passion for teaching, facilitating and commitment to students transformation she’s created a business here in Nelson that allows her to do what she loves while still being able to do what’s important to her and her family.

“Nelson is a small town and it does present challenges for small businesses. With my business I need to reach out to other regional areas. However, what I love about Nelson is it's an amazing place to get inspiration and I spend a lot of time in nature with my family. So a lot of creative ideas for retreats come from here.”

Drea also finds inspiration from collaborating with others businesses for workshops and courses. Recently teaming up with Woosahh, Beautiful Living, Where on Earth and Grant Johnson to photography.

Born To Shine

Clancy is a beautiful, creative inspiring single mum of two. In 2008 she founded Moonbeams Empowerment through a Community Futures program in Alberta. Moonbeams Empowerment promotes happiness and wellbeing through art in the way of adult retreats and children's creativity camps in Alberta and in our tiny town of Nelson.

When I met Clancy a few weeks ago she had just launched a crowdfunding campaign to publish her first book of illustrations to empower children called ‘Born to Shine’. I know how daunting and super scary crowdfunding campaigns can be so over the last 2 weeks I’ve been giving Clancy some tips and suggestions from what I learnt with North Spice.

‘Born to Shine’ is 90% funded but time pressure is now on as her deadline in Sunday and she still has $800 to raise. You can purchase her beautiful book for only $25, oh and she’s shipping worldwide! Her true passion is creating, visioning, channeling a positive message and sharing it with the world. Canadian Festival Guide with Stickybuds!

British Columbia is known for epic mountain culture, superb snow, and some of the nicest people in the world.  The province’s luscious natural landscapes are blanketed with enchanted forests, which surround peacefully meandering rivers, that flow between rocky shores toward crystal clear lakes.  On the riverbanks and lakeshores are a host of spiritually charged chill zones, many of which serve as the venue for some of the best boutique music festivals in the world.  That’s right, as a compliment to world class adventure sports and outdoor recreation, BC throws some of the best outdoor parties in the universe! Hidden deep in the woods you may just come across the funkiest place on earth, known to its inhabitants as The Fractal Forest, which is hosted, maintained, and curated by some the freshest and finest musical talent the BC Province has to offer.  In this case I’m talking about Stickybuds!
